Pros and Cons of Different LASIK Lasers

Icon LASIK takes your vision very serious. That is why we have invested in several different laser platforms and the most advanced pre-op technology available. The new Allegretto laser provides excellent results for many different prescriptions. Icon's history with each laser platform tells the surgeons which laser provides the best results based on prior treatments. Therefore, the pros and cons of each laser are taken into consideration when the optometrist and surgeon recommend a particular laser for your vision correction. Many patients get 20/15 or better vision on the NIDEK laser where as others may need the Allegretto or VISX Custom Laser. The only way to find out which laser is best is to come into the office for a complimentary consultation.

Risks of LASIK

The above chart provides very general information on the different laser platforms that independent surgeons have available at ICON LASIK centers. It is important for you to review the risks of lasik eye surgery to be fully informed. The FDA provides excellent patient resources so that you can stay informed of the latest information on the safety and effectiveness of LASIK. ICON also has a risks of lasik eye surgery page providing both general information on LASIK and details on the lasers that Icon owns.

With LASIK prices starting as low as $499, along with financing options for nearly everyone, you would be surprised how our LASIK procedures can accommodate every individual budget. Our goal is to keep LASIK affordable by:

  • Using a more efficient business model that never includes paying co-management fees to third-party eye doctors (co-management is when doctors receive commission for sending potential patients to certain LASIK centers which means you pay more.)
  • Having our own on-site laser systems, so we do not have to rent lasers to perform procedures. This makes Icon LASIK more affordable and allows us to perform more LASIK procedures than any other clinic in Denver.
  • Receiving more and more patient referrals from our current clientele who easily convince their friends and family to choose Icon LASIK. These referrals allow us to spend less money on advertising our services, so you always pay less for LASIK from us.
